The Adelaide Festival Centre was established as a statutory authority under the Adelaide Festival Centre Trust Act 1971 charged with the responsbility for encouraging and facilitating artistic, cultural, and performing arts activities throughout South Australia as well as maintaining and improving the facilities of the complex.
As South Australia’s creative heart the Adelaide Festival Centre is proud of its strong program led approach, consistent with its legacy and initial aspirations. The Festival Centre presents a year-long season of theatre, dance and music plus three international festivals including the Adelaide Cabaret Festival, OzAsia Festival and Adelaide International Guitar Festival - asserting its excellence as a presenter of world-class performing arts and a vital player in the development of new work in partnership with artists and companies.
The Adelaide Festival Centre is located along the River Torrens and has become one of the most iconic buildings on Adelaide's city skyline. Adelaide Festival Centre venues include: The Festival Theatre, The Dunstan Playhouse, The Space Theatre, The Artspace and Her Majesty's Theatre. Douglas Gautier - is the CEO and Artistic Director for the Adelaide Festival Centre.
