Pilobolus (pil-ob-o-lus) is a thirty-six year old major American dance company of international influence and renown. The company's innovative exploration of modern dance has given rise to a unique style where dancers transform their bodies into wondrous shapes. You may have seen their work at the Academy Awards or on Oprah.
This is the company's first visit to Australia. You cannot afford to miss this incredible series of dance works from one of the world's most acclaimed dance companies.
AQUATICA
A fairy tale using images of exotic marine life to probe the depths of the human psyche. Full of breathtaking leaps and amazing forms, Aquatica is at once a brand new work and classic Pilobolus.
PSEUDOPODIA
A tumbling tumbleweed solo set to an all-percussion score.
GNOMEN
This is one of Pilobolus's classic men's quartets. Gnomen's lyrical exploration of relationships emerges from an unusually inventive physical vocabulary.
SYMBIOSIS
A male-female duet which traces the birth of a relationship between two creatures sinuously and sensuously intertwined.
DAY TWO
One of the company's most amazing works, set to a soundtrack from Brian Eno and Talking Heads, Day Two captures the awe of evolution and the wonder of existence.
