Michelle Outram
Michelle is a Sydney-based artist who has undertaken practical training as a performance maker and sound artist as well as completing theoretical studies in performance (BA Hons Performance Studies, University of Sydney). She is the instigating artist and director of performance installation group
Shagging Julie and has also worked with Andrew Morrish, the Opera Project (Nigel Kellaway), Caitlin Newton-Broad, Eleanor Brickhill and PACT Youth Theatre among others, variously as a performer, sound artist, musical director and facilitator.
As an artist interested in the crossing of art forms, Michelle will participate in Time_Place_Space 3 - a two-week residential hybrid arts workshop (AIT Arts - Adelaide 2004). To seek out further opportunities, Michelle plans to visit Europe this year. In 2005 she will be developing a new work with Sue Broadway (co-founder of
Circus Oz).
Teik Kim Pok
Teik Kim arrived in Australia in 1999 to study theatre at the University of New South Wales where he completed an honours degree. Teik Kim has worked as a freelance performer/actor and curator with SBS, PACT Theatre, Urban Theatre Projects and Performance Space. He has also produced
Post-Op Chamber Piece, a solo work about cultural identity. In 2003 he worked with Guillermo Gomez-Pena on
The Living Museum of Fetish-ized Identities, and has recently performed in Song of Ghosts at PACT Theatre (April 2004). In July this year he will be participating in Time_Place_Space 3 - a two-week residential hybrid arts workshop (AIT Arts - Adelaide 2004). Teik Kim is currently in the initial phase of a self-initiated hybrid arts project involving live performance and video art.
Gavin Sladen
Gavin Sladen is a Sydney-based performer, writer and teacher. He has toured extensively in South-East Asia, participating in workshops with the Hong Kong People's Theatre, performing at housing estates in Kowloon, visiting the Shanghai Theatre Academy and performing at schools in Tokyo and Yokohama. Since 1999, he has worked as a freelance drama tutor, teaching workshops for Shopfront Theatre, Leichhardt Council and PACT Youth Theatre. He was a member of the artistic team for CrimeSite, a collaboration between PACT and Theatre Kantanka (December 2003), and has recently performed in
Song of Ghosts at PACT (April 2004). He is currently in the initial development phase of a work based on the novel
People Might Hear You by Robin Klein, pending approval by the author.
