Hearing Assistance
Thanks to the Adelaide Festival Centre’s new Beyerdynamic Hearing System, audience members who require assistance with hearing will now be able to enjoy the show with everyone else. In both the Space and Dunstan Playhouse theatres, it will be possible for patrons who require it to receive a small transmitter pack, with the choice of using either an inductive neck loop band (if they have a hearing aid) or a set of headphones (if they are hard of hearing and don’t have a hearing aid). Patrons can also bring their own set of headphones to be used if they desire.
Reservations for these receiver packs MUST be made when booking tickets, and patrons will need to arrive at the theatre half an hour before the performance time to collect their transmitter pack from the Front of House/ Information desk in the Dunstan Playhouse foyer (not the BASS counter). They will also be required to leave a driver’s licence or some form of photo ID with front of house staff as a deposit.
This technology upgrade was made possible due to generous donations by individuals and organisations to the Adelaide Festival Centre Foundation.
