Adelaide Festival Centre's Australian Stories program presents Two Blue Cherries' Three Dog Night by Peter Goldsworthy
Is compassion the means to liberation?
Beginning in the Adelaide Hills, Three Dog Night journeys to the vast expanse of the Australian outback and takes us deep into the desert of the human soul.
Based on the award-winning Peter Goldsworthy novel of the same name, Three Dog Night, questions the philosophical challenge of accepting a terminal illness and Australia's multifaceted indigenous and non-indigenous culture.
Spotlighting the immense human capacity for self-deception and the means we invent to hide our true feelings, it is ironic, restless and at times confronting.
Through Aboriginal Dreaming this modern day tragedy explores the underlying impulses that shape human behaviour.
"Intense and brilliant...
Three Dog Night is a work of concentrated formal elegance that confirms Goldsworthy's status as one of Australia's best."
