A spectacular Adelaide Festival Centre Christmas tradition presented by the Adelaide Festival Centre.
"At last Adelaide has a festive event that fills its Festival heart"Sunday Mail
Share the joy of the Christmas season with the sensational 34 piece Adelaide Art Orchestra and the12-part Adelaide Vocal Project choir featuring vocalist Silvie Paladino and pianist Bernard Walz conducted by Tim Sexton.
This years special feature will be the premiere performance of a brand new Christmas carol written by South Australian literary icon Max Fatchen and the beloved Festival Theatre Silver Jubilee Organ will again make a guest appearance.
Silvie Paladino is one of Australia’s most versatile entertainers and has performed in Asia, Europe and on London’s West End. Well known for her regular appearances at Carols by Candlelight in the Sidney Myer Music Bowl, she has also performed at many sporting events singing the national anthem and as the lead artist with many of Australia’s major symphony orchestras. Her musical theatre credits include principal roles in major productions of Les Miserables,Cats, Miss Saigon, Hair and Mamma Mia! More recently she toured Australia with Patrizio Buanne.
Bernard Walz is “Australia’s Premier Pops Pianist” and combines a cheeky sense of humour with an infectious enthusiasm for music. Winner of numerous awards including three “MO” Awards, he has performed all around the world: from the Sydney Opera House to the Royal Festival Hall in London and the Village Vanguard in New York. Bernard has toured with the likes of Michael Crawford and the late harmonica legend Larry Adler and has also performed with many of Australia’s major symphony orchestras.
"... a slick, well produced, heart warming evening."dB Magazine
