Mozart Piano Concerto No. 20, K.466
Mahler Symphony No. 5
The exquisitely tender Adagietto of Mahler's Symphony No.5, immortalized by Visconti in his film version of Death in Venice, has been a defining moment for many music lovers and inspired their ongoing love affair with Mahler's music. But there's much more in this wonderful musical arc, which begins with dark turbulence and ends in a blaze of optimism and glory.
Cédric Tiberghien, one of the most exciting pianists on the international circuit, returns to Adelaide to perform Mozart's K466 Piano Concerto, one of only two written in a minor key, with intense qualities which transcend the emotional boundaries of the eighteenth century and make it a favourite among pianists - and audiences.
