American singer and trumpeter Chet Baker was once labelled the ‘James Dean of Jazz’ for his matinee-idol beauty, emotionally intense performances and well-publicised drug habit. In this journey, fragments of a self-destructive life contrast with the lyrical beauty of the songs that Chet Baker would always be associated with, including My Funny Valentine, Let’s Get Lost, These Foolish Things, Everything Happens To Me, Look For The Silver Lining and There Will Never Be Another You.

Starring international cabaret award winner Tim Draxl, Freeway - The Chet Baker Journey reveals his natural affinity with Baker’s spare, haunting and instinctive musicality.

Freeway was devised and written by Bryce Hallett and Tim Draxl, with musical direction by the prodigious Ray Aldridge, featuring Eamon McNelis on trumpet and Dave Ellis on Bass.
