Turbo-charged Gilbert Varga leads the ASO in Richard Strauss's Don Juan in his first ASO appearance. Renowned for the fire of his interpretations, Varga brings out the full dynamic range of Strauss's dazzling symphonic poem.

The ASO is thrilled to welcome back David Elton, former principal trumpet, now making a splash as a brilliant soloist, in a concerto by the master orchestrator, Richard Mills, considered an Australian classic. The splendour of that evergreen favourite Pictures at an Exhibition - in which the brilliance of Mussorgsky and Ravel unite -brings the concert to its spectacular finish.
