HYMN OF THE SEVENTH GALAXY TOUR 2011
Adelaide announced, band line up updated.
RETURN TO FOREVER, one of the greatest jazz-fusion groups of all time, is reforming for a world tour that kicks off in Australia and New Zealand.
Almost forty years after Return to Forever - the definitive jazz/rock fusion ensemble - first appeared on the scene, the much-honoured ensemble is making one of their continuing returns to action. And, in the bold tradition of renewal that the band has established as an essential RTF quality, this latest installment combines elements from the group's rich history with an exciting vision of the jazz future.
"With this version of the band" says Corea, "we'd like to revisit more of that music, but it'll have a new twist. It's a new day".
Driven once again by the powerful engine of Chick Corea's keyboards, Stanley Clarke's bass and Lenny White's drums, RTF IV takes to the road in the company of the superb French violinist, Jean-Luc Ponty and the Australian guitarist Frank Gambale. Expect to hear this musically dynamic line-up discover new revelations in such classic RTF albums as Hymn of the Seventh Galaxy, while exploring a colourful array of compositions written specifically for this latest line-up.
Introducing Frank Gambale:-
The fiery-fingered Australian guitarist Frank
Gambale, a veteran of the Chick Corea Elektric band of the '80s and '90s, will
take the place of Bill Connors throughout the Australia - New Zealand tour, the
group saying:
"Bill Connors has a medical situation that will not allow
his traveling to Australia at this time. We all wish him a speedy and full
recovery. He is making good progress. Although the circumstances are
unfortunate, the guys are thrilled that Frank Gambale will be joining Return
to Forever".
