Academy Award-winning composer Tan Dun will conduct the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra during Adelaide Festival Centre's 2012 OzAsia Festival, in scores to three of his most critically acclaimed martial arts films.

Scenes from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Hero and The Banquet will come to life on the big screen while conductor and orchestra deliver the passion and power that thrilled movie audiences worldwide.

An Academy and Grammy award-winning composer and conductor, Tan Dun has made an indelible mark on the international music scene with a creative repertoire that spans from classical music to multimedia performances, of Eastern and Western traditions. As a composer/conductor, Tan Dun has led the world's most renowned orchestras, including the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, Berliner Philharmoniker, Philadelphia Orchestra, Orchestre National de France, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Filharmonica della Scala, Münchner Philharmoniker and the Santa Cecilia Orchestra, among others. Tan Dun served as “Cultural Ambassador to the World” for World EXPO 2010 Shanghai.
