The ASO sets the seal on a year superlative music-making with Freddy Kempf, the charismatic pianist whose incandescent in this greatest of Romantic is tempered with heart-warming sensitivity.

The golden thread ASO's Mahler series continues Arvo Volmer and the orchestra perform the Fourth Symphony, Mahler's ecstatic hymn to childhood innocence and the joys of heaven, sun-lit world where dark shadows banished.

The concert features the radiant voice of Adelaide's own Sally-Anne Russell.
