Master Series 1 - TOGNETTI AND THE SYMPHONY.
Richard Tognetti: Conductor & Violin
Beethoven: Violin Concerto
Dvořák: Symphony No 8
Richard Tognetti brings his unique musicianship to the Symphony, showcasing his remarkable abilities as a musical leader. The London Daily Telegraph hailed his playing as 'incisive, impassioned and characterful'. The critic could have added 'charismatic', as few other artists in the world today radiate the unique platform presence of Tognetti. His performance of the greatest concerto in the violin repertoire on his 1743 Guaneri del Gesù instrument will be something to cherish. Tognetti then turns his hand to conducting Antonin Dvořák's sublimely lyrical Eighth Symphony, a work brimming with warmth, exuberant dance rhythms and al fresco scenes from the sunlit meadows of his native Bohemia.
