"Collectively they are the only classical guitar quartet of real stature in the world today; in fact they virtually invented the format." New York Times
Founded in 1960 by Celedonio Romero in Franco's Spain, all three of Celedonio's sons (Angel, Celin and Pepe) had made their performance debuts by the age of seven. Over the years the Romeros have featured three generations of guitar virtuosi. The quartet now comprises Celin, Pepe, Celino (Celin's son) and Lito (Angel's son). As the world's leading guitar quartet the Romeros continue to inspire audiences with a diverse repertoire that spans the earliest composers to contemporary masters including Rodrigo and Torroba.
