Two-time Grammy nominee Tommy Emmanuel is one of Australia’s most respected musicians with a professional career spanning five decades. His unique style is akin to playing guitar the way a pianist plays piano, using all ten fingers. Rather than using a band for melody, rhythm, bass and drum parts, Tommy plays all that – and more – on one guitar. Guitar legend Chet Atkins was one of the first to inspire young Emmanuel to try this “fingerpicker” style. Decades later, Atkins himself became one of Emmanuel’s biggest fans. Guitar players of all levels come to his shows to witness the magic hands of the “Guitar Wizard of Oz”, but his appeal goes far beyond musicians. Tommy Emmanuel’s message is pure love for the guitar and the music and his delight in sharing it with the world, one audience at a time. Special guest, Frank vignola is widely regarded as a monster player and composer, and has played with everyone from Les Paul and Madonna through to Donald Fagen and the Boston Pops. This will be Frank’s first visit to Australia. “The best (guitar player) I’ve ever seen“ - Eric Clapton “…one of the greatest players on the planet!” - Chet Atkins Helpful links Add to 2012 Season Subscribtion View the full 2012 Season

John Waters - Looking Through A Glass Onion

UP CLOSE & PERSONAL, WHERE IT ALL BEGAN In 1992, John Waters and Stewart D'Arrietta took to the small stage at the Tilbury Hotel, Woolloomooloo, Sydney with their debut production of Looking Through A Glass Onion. What was an initially a one week booking quickly sold out and extended into a six week, sell out season. Thus the original seed of Looking For A Glass Onion was born. Fast forward 20 years and after many successful and sold out Glass Onion tours, John and Stewart have decided to return to their 'up close and personal' intimate 2 man show tour commencing in January 2012. "It began its life as a small venue piece with just Stewart D'Arrietta and myself on stage at the Tilbury Hotel in Sydney. I made my entrance from a kichen and climbed over patron's laps to scramble onto a tiny raised platform in the corner of the room. The audience and I were inescapably intimate with each other from the very start, and I kinda like that. Not every venue we play this time around can be exactly like that, but it's the feeling I want to create - to take the show back to its roots" says John Waters.

Australia, it's back... by overwhelmingly popular demand! Happy Days Records by special arrangement with its president 'Big Al Delvecchio' brings this unique concept to the stage with new stars and memories from the era that reigns supreme in Rock N Roll history. Big Al - world famous drive-in owner of Al's Diner - has cooked up a rock and roll feast large enough to whet any appetite, assembling the greatest band ever to take you back to a decade that created music legends and influenced a formidable culture, performing a catalogue where their songs are timeless, their hits are endless, and their flair is never forgotten. Rock like never before and take the journey back to the Class of 59!!! Rock N Roll's immortal journalist Ritchie Yorke described 2011's Class of 59 tour as "an outstanding and exciting new original show that tells the story of when rock 'n' roll music was a happy and exuberant experience. With a multi-talented cast, the show delivers a stack of red hot tracks in an appropriate context. Rock 'n' Roll comes alive again in this terrific show worthy of an international audience." Dance with us back to an era when rock and roll influenced and created a social movement for the teenagers of its day... an era where black horned rimmed glasses became a trend... an era where petrol was so cheap that it fuelled not only the hot rods on the roads but fired up a musical movement that would only be lived for a short while but would last in the hearts and souls of billions for eternity. It is this era that will be recreated on stage... Fans of the show will be able to take their concert experience home with them with the purchase of the official Class of 59 tour CD featuring a compilation of the hits from the golden era performed on the tour and will be available only on this tour.
Graeme Murphy is famous for bringing new life into classic ballets, and now he tackles the greatest love story ever told: Romeo & Juliet. Traversing time and place, Murphy’s ballet follows “a feisty girl and a feisty boy who are willing to take a stand for their love”. Young passion smoulders at its core, but Murphy also tackles the consequence of greed and war, and asks what happens to humanity when love dies. This grand story is also grandly designed, with costumes by Australian fashion luminary Akira Isogawa and some of The Australian Ballet’s most ambitious sets to date. The result is a masterpiece from first blush to final devastation. Cleese is loved the world over for his comedic antics in cult films such as 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail', 'Monty Python's The Meaning of Life', 'The Life of Brian' and the ever memorable television series 'Fawlty Towers'. In 1998 he won a British Academy Award for Best Actor in 'A Fish Called Wanda' which also starred Jamie Lee Curtis and Kevin Kline. He also appeared in the James Bond films 'The World is Not Enough' and 'Die Another Day'. Few comedy troupes have reached the same fame of Monty Python, and a large part of that success was due to John Cleese and his impeccable timing and sense of humour. Cleese describes his one man show as "an evening of well honed anecdotes, psychoanalytical tit-bits, and unprovoked attacks on former colleagues, especially Michael Palin." Cleese has mastered everything from dry wit to slapstick humour, making his type of humour one that everyone can enjoy. He is the master comedian and admired and respected by everyone.
There’s big – and then there’s Bernstein. From West Side Story to Candide, celebrated classical composer Leonard Bernstein knew how to make a big song and dance. Bernstein regarded Mass, a kaleidoscopic mix of music, dance and theatre featuring a symphony orchestra, a rock band, a choir and opera singers as his defining achievement. Commissioned for the opening of the Kennedy Center in 1970, Mass features a small village of performers and a supremely charismatic lead in the ‘Celebrant’, performed by the great US gospel singer Jubilant Sykes. The spectacle of Mass is underpinned by a profound statement of human faith that is explosive, cathartic and ultimately uplifting.
On Sale 07 November 2011 By Tennessee Williams Set in St. Louis in the 1930’s, The Glass Menagerie is a “memory play” about the Wingfield family: Tom, who is torn between his obligation to his family and his desire to break away from the suffocating embrace of his mother Amanda and his shy and crippled sister Laura, whose memory he will never escape. Abandoned by her husband, Amanda Wingfield comforts herself with recollections of her earlier, more gracious life in the American Deep South, when she was pursued by ‘gentlemen callers’. Now she fights to provide a better life for her grown children, while they struggle for a future that seems unlikely ever to fulfill their mother’s hopes and dreams. But a change in fortune suddenly seems possible with the arrival of a handsome and mysterious young visitor who arrives without warning. <em>The Glass Menagerie, Tennessee William's evocation of loneliness and lost love, is one of his most powerful and moving plays; an unforgettable American classic.
On Sale 07 November 2011 By Caryl Churchill Set in Margaret Thatcher’s England in the early 1980s, where power dressing and giant shoulder pads were the all the fashion, Caryl Churchill’s stark and unflinching portrayal of the sacrifices women make to get to the top is still stingingly relevant. Marlene is an ambitious career woman who has just been appointed head of the Top Girls Employment Agency. This aesthetically daring, politically provocative play tells the story of the firm and Marlene’s rise to power. An insightful commentary on bourgeois feminism, this bold and ingenious work offers one of theatre's most honest portraits of what it means to be a woman in the modern world. Top Girls examines the complex challenges working women face in the contemporary business world and society at large. We celebrate Marlene’s success, yet as she climbs the corporate ladder and breaks through the glass ceiling, she leaves her sisters behind. In doing so, the play asks, can we applaud her values? The shoulder-pads may have gone on the rubbish heap, but Churchill’s masterpiece continues to resonate. Director: Catherine Fitzgerald Designer: Mary Moore Cast Includes: Eileen Darley, Antje Guenther , Ulli Birvé Composer: Catherine Oates

On Sale 07 November 2011 By Sarah Kane. It’s a rare event when theatre makes the headlines but Blasted, Sarah Kane’s first play, did just that. Hugely controversial when it premiered at London’s Royal Court Theatre in 1995, it was hailed as a landmark of modern theatre, an astonishingly visceral play of harrowing power that achieved notoriety very quickly by being lambasted in the Daily Mail as “a disgusting feast of filth”. It starts in a Leeds hotel room, to which sickly, gin-soaked local news journalist Ian takes his young lover, the naïve, epileptic Cate for the night. He’s racist, homophobic, and armed. They circle each other in a battle of wills when suddenly an armed soldier enters the room and ignites an explosive set of events that lead to scenes of rape, torture and cannibalism. Kane takes audiences through a nightmarish journey that serves as a vicious reminder that violence outside will always find a way in. Blasted is not for the faint-hearted but it is for the reflective mind. Director: Netta Yashchin Lighting Designer: Mark Pennington Designer: Wendy Todd Cast: Anni Lindner

On Sale 07 November 2011 By Simon Stephens It’s July 2005 and London feels like the centre of the world. Big events are happening and everyone is talking about them – Live 8, G8, the triumph of the 2012 Olympics bid for London. In schools, offices, streets, shops, parks and homes – the air is electric with promise and possibility. You can feel the sense of anticipation. In less than an hour in Central London, everything will change … It’s a lonely trek towards oblivion on the London Underground made by a young man with ice in his heart and a pack of explosives in his rucksack. This stark and shattering play follows seven different characters who share little besides their loneliness, over the first seven days of July from Live 8 through the 2012 Olympics announcement and the ensuing terror attacks in the heart of London. A state-of-the-nation play in the fullest sense, Pornography captures Britain as it crashes from the euphoria and promise of the 2012 Olympics announcement into the devastation of the 7/7 terrorist attacks. Simon Stephens is one of Britain’s most brilliant new playwrights. One city, one day, seven stories. (And of course it couldn’t happen here…) Director: Daniel Clarke Composer: Jason Sweeney Lighting Designer: Mark Pennington Designer: Wendy Todd

By Sarah Ruhl If you long for a time when an ankle was breathtaking, when a well-turned calf or the touch of a hand across a teapot caused palpitations, then this 19th century costume drama is the play for you. If you’ve confined your knowledge of the Victorians to that century’s output in the genre of the novel, you’ll be forgiven for thinking that no one ever had sex, no one went to the bathroom and certainly, no one used a vibrator. Dr Givings is an inventor who is obsessed with the new miracle of electricity. His wife, a frustrated free spirit, craves romantic love, sensuality, and excitement with her buttoned-up husband, who has more passion for science than for, well, passion. She longs to connect with him - but not electrically. A bystander in her husband's world, the vagaries of the medical field have never held much allure for her, until now. Lonely and struggling with new motherhood, Mrs Givings seeks the companionship of her husband's patients and begins to discover the truth of what goes on in the next room. A funny, touching and stimulating new comedy about love, longing, science and invention, In The Next Room or the Vibrator Play was nominated for both the Tony Awards and the Pulitzer Prize, and was a resounding hit when it opened on Broadway in 2009, consolidating Sarah Ruhl’s reputation as one of America’s most imaginative and effervescent contemporary playwrights. Director: Catherine Fitzgerald Designer: Ailsa Paterson Lighting Designer: David Gadsden Composer: Catherine Oates Cast Includes: Lizzy Falkland, Katherine Fyffe, Cameron Goodall, Amber McMahon, Renato Musolino and Brendan Rock

Ireland's most popular 'easy listening' entertainer returns to Australia in March 2012. Daniel has enjoyed tour and chart success in Australia and New Zealand for a number of years and earned himself a loyal following that stretches across both countries. Daniel, who was awarded an Honorary MBE in 2002 for services to the music industry, has an immense chart history with both record and video sales. To date he has had 20 UK chart albums and 14 UK Top 10 music videos. His most current video release Songs Of Faith topped the UK music charts. He is the only artist to feature in the UK album charts each of the last 20 years! Daniel has also received great chart success in Australia with his Showtime DVD reaching No. 6 and his album The Jukebox Years reached No. 36 on the ARIA charts. He may be a superstar, but Daniel remains as excited and enthusiastic about his work and his fans as when he first launched his career. Daniel has never forgotten that it was the public who gave him his success in the first place, especially as he struggled long and hard to achieve his ambitions. A native of Kincasslagh, Co. Donegal, Daniel's concert appearances have taken him from London's Royal Albert Hall and Dublin's Point Depot to New York's Carnegie Hall and Sydney's Opera House, but he still continues to set himself fresh ambitions and new worlds to conquer. Each man has his own story: sometimes funny, sometimes overwhelming, always poignant. As they navigate the hinterland between masculine and feminine, truth and artifice, past and present, their personal dramas are played out in a bold, yet deeply tender mix of dance, song, theatre and cabaret to the music of Aznavour, Dalida and Ravel. A revelatory new work from the lauded company that brought Adelaide the much-loved shows La Tristeza Complice and Iets op Bach, Gardenia is not a work of fiction.
Force Majeure & Sydney Theatre Comapny Adelaide Festival, Sydney Festival and Melbourne Festival Australian Premiere Season Australia's leading dance theatre company Force Majeure takes inspiration from issues raised in Christos Tsiolkas' controversial book The Slap in a provocative new work exploring contemporary attitudes to raising children. In a society where parents have less children, less time, more money and many more opinions on how to produce the perfect child, are we creating an environment that will ultimately lead to a future generation with more hang ups than perfections? Or is this actually an ongoing and age-old dilemma? In an exciting first-time collaboration between Force Majeure's Kate Champion and Sydney Theatre Company's Andrew Upton, Never Did Me Any Harm uses Force Majeure's trademark synthesis of fluid movement, images and real-life interviews to deliver an emotional, humorous and insightful work that cannot fail to resonate with all who were once children.
Windmill Theatre and Adelaide Festival Previews: 3 March 2012 Season: 6 - 10 March 2012 This is a story of three teenage boys. They're going to the school dance. They're on a mission. But they are losers. These are the awkward kids. The invisible teens. Fuelled by a diet of raging hormones and mee goreng noodles, they exist in a misfit realm, navigating complex waters with little success. With a unique performative voice, this is a highly personal work that, just like its central protagonists, is funny, sad, scary, weird, really stupid, endearing and repulsive. Writer: Matthew Whittet Director: Rosemary Myers Designer: Jonathon Oxlade Lighting: Richard Vabre Movement: Gabrielle Nankivell Original soundtrack: Luke Smiles, motion laboratories Starring: Amber McMahon, Jonathon Oxlade, Luke Smiles, Matthew Whittet WARNING: Occassional coarse language. Suitable for ages 14+. DURATION: 80 minutes (no interval). ACCESS: Wheelchair access, Assistive listening systems, May be partly captioned (or surtitled). GROUPS SAVE: Groups of 6-10 can book online.
by Garry Stewart Australian Dance Theatre in association with Adelaide Festival and Adelaide Festival Centre 24 February 2012 (preview) 25 February - 3 March 2012 Australian Premiere Season Liberating the body from our everyday understanding of physics, Proximity is an immersive visual experience where the miniscule becomes massive and the singular becomes multiple. Choreographer Garry Stewart works with Paris-based video engineer/techno whiz kid Thomas Pachoud to create an astonishing dialogue for dance and real-time video manipulation. Eight phenomenal dancers train video cameras on each other to capture live, their ingenious physicality. The resulting effect is a breathtaking video panorama that upends the very nature of perception itself and questions our ideas of selfhood and identity.
A Big hART production, created with the Namatjira family. Learn more about his life, legacy, inspiration and international impact Albert Namatjira’s life story provides a valuable insight, not only into Australia’s history, but into our modern-day relations with Indigenous people. At the height of his international fame, his artworks sold out within minutes. Albert’s beautiful paintings introduced the lounge rooms of Australian suburbia to the exquisite beauty of our central desert heartland. The rich watercolours of Namatjira’s story are transformed into a monumentous theatrical event, and have brought audiences to their feet night after night around Australia. With the inimitable Trevor Jamieson as Albert Namatjira, this energetic celebration of a life fully lived also features third-generation artists from Namatjira’s hermannsburg community, creating expansive drawings live.
Making the physically impossible possible CIRCA is a thoroughly new kind of circus: daring, breathtaking and cheeky. This extraordinary troupe has left the high top and drum roll behind and stripped circus bare. Re-inventing circus as an art form, this is movement at its most adventurous, but with a cabaret twist and a larrikin’s flair. Combining high energy sound and innovative projections, seven of the world’s best acrobats perform jaw-dropping feats. It’s dangerous and skilful, immediate and powerful, intimate and real. A story of human co-operation and frailty exquisitely told through movement. Rapturously acclaimed around the globe, Circa has toured to 22 countries across five continents and now comes to Adelaide for the first time. Circa is pure spectacle for the heart, body and soul.
Venturing where no string band has gone before New York’s charismatic Punch Brothers are at the frontier of an emerging form of country-inspired chamber music. Their instrumental prowess and exquisite ensemble have won them countless fans in concert halls, live music clubs and cyberspace. Punch Brothers’ inimitable set lists span from Bach and Mozart through tender original songs, chamber suites and traditional bluegrass, to covers of Radiohead, The Beatles, The Strokes and many more. Unbound by notions of genre, their collaborative, porous approach to music making results in an extraordinary dynamic performance, laced with breathless emotion and humour. In Australia for the first time, Punch Brothers features serial collaborator Chris Thile (mandolin and lead vocals), Noam Pikelny (banjo), Gabe Witcher (fiddle), Chris Eldridge (guitar), and Paul Kowert (bass). “…this top shelf acoustic quintet is a virtuosic revelation.” - Boston Globe Helpful links Add to 2012 Season Subscribtion View the full 2012 Season

By Don Reid Fiesty and vulnerable, these biddies are everything – except old! Five ordinarily marvellous women find themselves back in their school classroom plying their needles in a good old-fashioned session of “stitch and bitch”. Their confessions are frank, their rivalries intense and their jokes outrageous. They discover a common frustration with the limitations of being female and mature in a world still largely defined by men. Accidentally locked in the classroom with nothing but ingenuity, Adora Cream Wafers and a bucket to get them through the crisis, unknown reserves come to the fore. Released from their own constraints, they rediscover their capacity to love, forgive – and take control. If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em! Men see their wives, adult children see their mothers, grandchildren see Nana, and the mature Australian woman sees herself, as some of our most beloved actresses bring this delightful new comedy to life and laughter on the stage. You’ll laugh till you cry. Starring Maggie Blinco, Annie Byron, Jeanie Drynan, Donna Lee and Linden Wilkinson “...a heart-warming comedy....” - Sydney Morning Herald Helpful links Add to 2012 Season Subscribtion View the full 2012 Season

Ephemeral transformation of place Acclaimed choreographer Frances Rings describes her new work Terrain as a hymn to country; a fusion of dance, theatre and storytelling, told by the celebrated Bangarra dancers. Inspired by the landscape of one of our greatest natural wonders, Terrain explores the metamorphosis and timeless beauty that is Lake eyre. Tracing through the erosions of time, we face the challenges of man and environment as they struggle for survival amongst the delicate ecology in search of the rare phenomenon that is Australia’s inland sea. This powerful, evocative new work transports us to the scorching arid desert plains where nature delivers in abundance and promises all but guarantees nothing. Artistic Director: Stephen Page Choreographer: Frances Rings Composer: David Page Set Design: Jacob Nash Dancer: Deborah Brown.
An Australian Centre for Photography Exhibition Free artist talk 3pm Saturday 4th February. Princesses, warlords, dandies and divas take the stage to form two highly complex fine art series titled The Regal Twelve and The Royal Dozen. Exploring the complexities of the famous, the infamous and the obscure, these portraits celebrate historical realities within the guise of contemporary fantasy, a kind of conversation between the past and present. IMAGE © Alexia Sinclair Elizabeth I – The Virgin Queen (1533 – 1603) 2007 Helpful links View all Exhibitions View the full 2012 Season

This is the story of a man who has something to say, but can't quite get it out. Legendary Canadian performer Jamie Adkins (Cirque du Soleil soloist, and Montréal's Cirque Éloize) is mustering the courage to face what he fears most: speaking in public. To overcome his fear he's going to need to get creative! Right side up and upside down, Jamie finds the magic hidden in just about anything. Balancing precariously on towering ladders, wrangling an animated chair and juggling anything he can find are all part of his unusual solution. With astonishing acrobatic skills, sidesplitting wit and an imaginative story about never giving up, this brilliant sequence of choreographed mayhem is an international hit that will have you captivated and a little speechless yourself. "Infinitesimal acts of imperceptible genius." The New York Times Created and performed by Jamie Adkins.

La Bohême is without doubt one of the world's most celebrated and emotionally powerful operatic love stories. The tumultuous story of young love, friendship and grief is even more compelling when surrounded by Puccini's glorious and evocative music. The opera draws from a collection of true-life sketches describing life among original bohemians, the poor artists of Paris's Latin Quarter. Hungry but cheerful, the poet Rodolfo shares a roof top garret with the painter Marcello, the musician Schaunard and philosopher Colline. The action starts on a moonlit Christmas Eve when the frail but lovely seemstress Mimi comes to Rodolfo's door for help and the two instantly fall passionately in love. Meanwhile Marcello carries on his turbulent affair with the flirtatious Musetta. Rodolfo later becomes rather jealous of Mimi, and the two regretfully part, until Musetta reveals that Mimi is dying of consumption. So the lovers are again united, only to be separated forever by Mimi's death. Please note: this performance will be sung in Italian with English Surtitles.

Beethoven's magnificent only opera takes place in Spain when governed by a military regime where Florestan, a freedom fighter, has been imprisoned in a detainment camp for political prisoners by his enemy Don Pizarro who plans to starve him to death while rumours circulate that he is already dead. On hearing these frightening rumours and desperate to save Florestan, his wife Leonore, disguised as a man and named Fidelio succeeds in getting a job working for the jailer Rocco as a means of finding a way to free him. Embarrassingly Rocco's daughter Marzelline is hoping to marry Fidelio spurning her former sweetheart, Jacquino. When Don Pizarro hears of the impending visit to the prison of his superior, Don Fernando, he decides to murder Florestan, only to discover that Fidelio is shielding the prisoner so the frustrated and furious Pizarro attempts to kill them both. However, Leonore suddenly draws a pistol and reveals herself as Florestan's wife. About to fire the pistol to kill Pizarro a trumpet fanfare is heard announcing the arrival of Don Fernando, so the panic stricken Pizarro immediately leaves Florestan's cell. Consequently Florestan and Leonore feel they have been saved and are ecstatic. Rocco informs Don Fernando of Don Pizarro's horrific misdeeds who instructs all prisoners held unjustly to be released to family and friends, including Leonore who removes the chains from Florestan. Marzelline consents to marry Jacquino as Pizarro is led away to imprisonment. The opera ends with the sensational closing chorus praising married love and the triumph of goodwill and humanity. Please note: this performance will be sung in German with English surtitles.

Eurydice, bored stupid with her marriage to the lowly music professor Orpheus, is having a love affair with Pluto, the God of the Underworld, who is disguised as a local shepherd and has lured her into a cornfield where she is bitten by a snake and falls dying in his arms. He then exposes himself, and brings her back to life so she can leave a message for Orpheus, and then whisks her away to Hades, his underworld realm. Not being happy with his marriage, Orpheus is rather pleased with this development but is persuaded by the allegorical character Pubic Opinion to try and rescue her, so they depart for Mount Olympus to seek help from Jupiter, King of the Gods. Following orders from Jupiter, the god Mercury arrives with news regarding the scandalous disappearance of Eurydice on Earth and the fact that Orpheus is on the way to ask Jupiter to return his wife to him. Pluto has of course lied to Jupiter about the location of Eurydice who is being kept in his boudoir in Hades and where she is being guarded and entertained by John Styx, the former King of Beotia. On arrival at Pluto's boudoir in Hades, Orpheus, Jupiter and the other Gods realise that Eurydice is nowhere to be found. However, with the intervention of the playful God of love Cupid he is able to access her face to face, in the form of a fly, as he has decided he would rather like the lady for himself. She loves the fly so he turns back into himself and invites her to join him at a party on Mount Olympus. Eurydice arrives disguised as a bacchante, a follower of Bacchus the God of Wine, but is recognized by Pluto who prevents Jupiter making off with her. In response Jupiter again accuses Pluto of abducting her and on the arrival of Orpheus and Public Opinion he tells Orpheus he can walk his wife back to Earth, but only if he does not look back at her as they go, something he fails to achieve after being forced into turning around by Jupiter. He then announces that Eurydice is to be turned into a real Bacchante with everyone, excluding Pluto and Public Opinion, delighted and resulting in this wonderful Offenbach operetta reaching its climax and conclusion with the Can-Can being danced by all the gods and goddesses. Please note: this performance will be sung in English with English surtitles.

In 1982, Antony Jay and Jonathan Lynn penned the first episodes of Yes Minister for the BBC. It was an instant hit. Their characters and situations revealed, to a largely unsuspecting public, the deliciously awkward marriage between civil servants and politicians. Twenty-five years later these brilliant wordsmiths have done it again and this time it's a hit play! It's 2011. A lot has happened since the Rt Hon. Jim Hacker MP last walked the corridors of Whitehall. There's the GFC, rising oil prices, minority governments, illegal immigrants and global warming. If that's not enough to contend with, the 24 hour news cycle, constant bleating of mobile phones, endless emails and a new generation of spin doctors. Starring Philip Quast (Mary Poppins) as the cynical Cabinet Secretary, Sir Humphrey Appleby, alongside familiar Australian TV star Mark Owen-Taylor (All Saints, A Country Practice) playing the embattled Prime Minister Jim Hacker, and John Lloyd-Fillingham (UK's National Theatre and Royal Shakespeare Company) as the hapless assistant, Bernard Woolley and Caroline Craig (Blue Heelers, Underbelly) as Hacker's policy advisor. SUITABLE: A comedy with Adult themes - not recommended for children under 14 years of age. CONCESSIONS: For seniors, pensioners and carers. The concession discount is only available for Thursday and Saturday matinees plus Wednesday-Thursday evenings. GROUPS OF 10+ SAVE ON 'A RESERVE' SEATS! Groups of 10 can book online. His curiosity and hunger for experienced based knowledge, teamed with his willingness to travel, his no-holds-barred delivery of his opinions and observations, and wicked sense of humour make him one of the most inspiring and interesting commentators / entertainers of a generation. He returns to Australia in 2012 brimming with tales of recent exploits all packed together under the banner of The Long March. With sold out performances in Melbourne and Sydney in early 2011 be sure to get your tickets early! We may never go to North Korea, or a Johnny Cash show or be awarded any award named after Nelson Mandela, but it's a testament to the strength of Henry's mind and his powerful control of language that those of us in attendance felt like we did". - FASTER LOUDER 2010.

DORIS is a heart-felt homage, co-written by Melinda and musical theatre scribe, David Mitchell (of Dusty and Shout! fame). The clock turns back as Melinda lovingly tells the story of Ms. Day's life through such popular standards as Sentimental Journey, Que Sera, Sera, Everybody Loves a Lover, Secret Love and a whole slew of hits from Calamity Jane, The Pajama Game and Love Me or Leave Me. Not only wonderfully musical, DORIS is visually stunning as Melinda's on-stage wardrobe is a virtual runway of some high fashion trends Doris showcased in her thirty nine Hollywood movies. It's a big production, about a big personality, performed by a big talent - Melinda Schneider, as she once again struts her stuff alongside two top male singer dancers and the swinging eight piece Doris Big Band. PLEASE NOTE Children 12 months and under FREE on lap
