With the generous support of the Adelaide Festival Centre Foundation, Adelaide Festival Centre’s centrED Schools Program had the pleasure of hosting 200 students, teachers and caregivers from five Northern Adelaide State Secondary Schools Alliance (NASSSA) schools at Mary Poppins.

The NASSSA schools cater for some of the most complex communities in South Australia. Many students have rarely been to the Adelaide CBD, let alone to see a live performance. With an Adelaide Festival Centre Foundation grant through their Arts for All program, centrED have been working with NASSSA since 2016 to create opportunities for their students and wider communities to engage with the arts.

"Sitting in the audience listening to the students around us laugh, smile, gasp and scream......Just made me truly appreciate the importance of the Arts in education and our wider communities."

— Teacher, Northern Adelaide State Secondary Schools Alliance

All costs were covered as a joint effort between the Mary Poppins Australia team who provided discounted tickets and Adelaide Festival Centre Foundation. CentrEd thank Department for Education, South Australia for their ongoing support to make every one of our school engagements happen.
