The 2024 Trevor Nickolls Art Prize for OUR MOB has been awarded to Arabunna Elder Reginald Dodd OAM and three OUR YOUNG MOB winners; Adnyamathanha artist Rosie Cruse, Narungga artist Brianna Warrior and Mirning artist Maya Baker.
Uncle Reginald Dodd, (known as Reg) is an Arabunna Elder and renowned cultural custodian and artist, who has dedicated his life to preserving the beauty and significance of his homeland. His artwork Seeding Our Future showcases the vital role of native plants in the Lake Eyre Basin, while his photography and cultural consulting work have contributed to a deeper appreciation of First Nations heritage and the importance of environmental stewardship.
In 2019, Uncle Reg was recognised for his extraordinary service to the Indigenous community of Marree with a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) and South Australia's Senior Australian of the Year Award.
The prestigious Trevor Nickolls Art Prizes, established by Adelaide Festival Centre Foundation, honour the legacy of renowned First Nations artist, Trevor Nickolls. His work, which addresses First Nations issues, is celebrated in major galleries both Australian and internationally.
Adelaide Festival Centre’s OUR MOB exhibition alongside OUR YOUNG MOB showcases the quality and diversity of art by South Australian First Nations artists. These exhibitions play a crucial role in advancing artists’ careers, and facilitating direct-to-artist sales, providing support for their practices. Artworks can be viewed and purchased at Adelaide Festival Centre’s online shop until 12 October.

OUR MOB is open until 12 October 2024. You can visit the exhibition on Fridays and Saturday’s between 10am and 3pm in the Festival Theatre Galleries.
