Grandmothers Songs

centrED Celebrates National Reconciliation Week

Performed during National Reconciliation Week (27 May-3 June 2021), Grandmothers Songs is a collection of new and unrecorded original songs inspired by the stories, knowledge and memories of Aboriginal Grandmothers. This special performance explores their journey through culture, time and space. Presented by Vonda Last, an Adelaide based Ngaanyatjarra singer-songwriter, accompanied by renowned Adelaide composer, musician and educator Julian Ferraretto and the Pocket String Quartet. Vonda’s songs draw on her personal experiences amplifying the voice of Aboriginal Elders through storytelling and song. Education resource to follow.
