Costumes: Collection, Design and Making

A day for students who are passionate about costuming from the design, through to the making and what happens next.

Presented in Collaboration with State Theatre Company South Australia

Do you have students who love offstage design roles? Individuals who are passionate about costumes and wardrobe? This day is for them.

Students will start at Adelaide Festival Centre where they’ll get up close with some costume pieces from the South Australian Performing Arts Collection and learn about the collection and curation. After lunch students will gather at State Theatre Company South Australia’s wardrobe department located at Wigg & Son, Port Road, where they’ll meet and learn about the design process from the Costume Designer (of the production The Club) and conclude the day with State Theatre Company’s wardrobe team learning and understanding the process of making and sourcing costumes.
