A collaborative song writing project exploring the NAIDOC week theme ‘Always Was, Always Will Be’ through music.
In Semester Two 2020, teachers and students from Craigmore High School and Playford International College worked with Barkindji woman and singer songwriter Nancy Bates, to explore the First Nations history and tradition of Songlines. Students and teachers worked together with Nancy to investigate and interpret the NAIDOC week theme ‘Always Was, Always Will Be’, and then wrote verses in response. These verses have been woven into a ‘modern Songline’ in the form of the song on the video below.
