Children’s Casting Call Out for Adelaide’s Young Elvis

The hit musical Elvis: A Musical Revolution, will rock into Adelaide’s Her Majesty’s Theatre this April. Presented by David Venn Enterprises, the new bio-musical explores the extraordinary life of award-winning cultural icon and rock ‘n’ roll superstar, Elvis Presley. Ahead of the Adelaide performances, a talent search will commence to cast ‘Young Elvis’ who will perform song and dance numbers, and several dialogue scenes.

The producers are thrilled to invite young male identifying performers with strong acting and singing skills to audition for the role of Young Elvis on Saturday 17 February. A full casting brief for this role can be found here.  

The musical features over 40 iconic Elvis Presley hits, such as Jailhouse Rock, Hound Dog, That’s All Right, All Shook Up, Suspicious Minds, Heartbreak Hotel, Burning Love, Blue Suede Shoes, Good Rockin’ Tonight, Don’t Be Cruel, Are You Lonesome, Return to Sender, Teddy Bear, A Big Hunk O’ Love, See See Rider, Can't Help Falling In Love, A Little Less Conversation, Guitar Man and more.

Mainstage and television star Rob Mallett (Home and Away, Aladdin, Singin’ In The Rain) will continue to shine in the role of Elvis Presley after receiving rave reviews and securing the role from over 700 applicants nation-wide, alongside Adelaide’s own Annie Chiswell in the iconic role of Priscilla Presley.

Annie (Friends the Musical Parody, Shrek the Musical, High Country) graduated from Adelaide College of the Arts in 2014 with an Advanced Diploma of Fine Arts (Acting). From there, she moved to Melbourne to attend APO Arts Academy, and graduated with a Diploma of Music Theatre under a scholarship program in 2016.

Presented in partnership with Authentic Brands Group (Authentic), owner of Elvis Presley Enterprises, the musical explores pivotal moments in Elvis’ life from his childhood in Tupelo, Mississippi through to his triumphant ’68 Comeback Special. Audiences of all ages will have the chance to connect with the music of a generation that continues to have an undeniable cultural impact.
