The hit musical Disney’s Beauty and the Beast has enchanted South Australian audiences, becoming one of the highest-attended shows at Adelaide Festival Centre, playing to over 120,000 fans and joining three other Disney Theatrical Group productions in the top four most attended shows of all time at Adelaide Festival Centre.
Adelaide has once again proven it's a powerhouse for musical theatre, with passionate and enthusiastic South Australians coming in droves for live performance. This season is a testament not only to the timeless power of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, but to Adelaide’s thriving arts industry and love of world-class entertainment.
Disney first brought the magic to Adelaide Festival Centre in 2018 with Aladdin, followed by Frozen in 2020, Mary Poppins in 2023 (in collaboration with Cameron Mackintosh and Michel Cassel Group), and most recently, fan-favourite Disney’s Beauty and the Beast in 2025.
With numerous sold-out performances and countless standing ovations, Beauty and the Beast’s arrival in South Australia had audiences and critics raving, declaring “this production is a must see” (Glam Adelaide), “with a production this enchanting, it’s impossible not to be their guest” (The Scoop AU), “entertainment at its best” (The Barefoot Review), and “five stars” (The Advertiser).
The Honourable Andrea Michaels MP, Minister for Arts: “Disney’s Beauty and the Beast has had an incredible run here in South Australia and drawn huge crowds to Adelaide Festival Centre. Its attendance numbers are second only to Aladdin, which delighted Disney fans in 2019. It’s been so wonderful having Beauty and the Beast here. I can’t wait to see what Disney has in store for SA next!”
