The biennial Adelaide Park Lands Art Prize celebrates the beautiful Park Lands that surround the city of Adelaide – the world’s only city located in a park.

All events at Adelaide Festival Centre venues are being held in accordance with SA Health direction and the South Australian Roadmap for Easing Covid-19 Restrictions. The Adelaide Festival Centre website offers Event Guidelines in response to the most current information.

20 March - 7 May 2021
Venue: QBE Galleries 2and 3
Times: 9am - 5pm Mon-Fri, plus theatre show times (Closed 2 April - 5 April)

Described as the city's ‘backyard’ the Adelaide Park Lands surround the Adelaide CBD and the adjacent suburb of North Adelaide. They comprise 760,000 square metres of open land in the form of 27 adjoining parks and five city squares named for prominent figures in Adelaide’s history.

The Adelaide Park Lands Art Prize is a major art prize initiated by the Adelaide Park Lands Preservation Association (APLPA). It aims to shine a light on the beauty and fragility of the Park Lands and celebrates their significant value in an urban setting.

Artists are encouraged to use their submission to make a statement and/or capture the essence of the Adelaide Park Lands.

Prize recipients will share a prize pool of $38,500 including: a $20,000 First Prize; $2,000 APPA Young Artist’s Prize; $1,500 People’s Choice Prize and 10 x $1,500 prizes.

The finalists for 2020 have been named and their artworks are available for sale online. View the list here.
