Meryl Tankard Two Feet Exhibition

An exhibition of original costumes from Two Feet, performed in the Dunstan Playhouse in 2004, kindly donated by Meryl Tankard to the Performing Arts Collection at Adelaide Festival Centre in 2019

Venue: Festival Theatre foyer
Dates: 4 Feb – 31 Mar 2019
Times: Mon – Fri 9am – 6pm, Sat 9am – 5pm, plus theatre performance times

Two dancers from two different times: Olga Spessivtzeva, world famous Russian prima ballerina and Mepsie, aspiring Aussie ballerina.  Both dancers share an obsessive dedication to the rigours of classical ballet.

Two Feet is one of Meryl Tankard’s most critically acclaimed works, not only because of her virtuosic performance as both Olga and Mepsie, but also because of the evocative visual landscape designed by visual artist Regis Lansac.

Natalia Osipova, legendary principal artist with the Royal Ballet, will reprise the roles of Olga and Mepsie in Two Feet for the 2019 Adelaide Festival of Arts. Osipova is performing in the Olga tutu originally worn by Tankard and made by costumer Anthony Phillips.
