Venue: QBE Galleries
Dates & Times:  October 2020

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 public health emergency and recent travel restrictions into and out of regional and remote communities, OUR MOB: Art by South Australian Aboriginal Artists cannot proceed in its usual format this year. Please read the full program update from 4 June 2020 here.

Adelaide Festival Centre will instead present a celebratory exhibition of art by First Nations artists from our Works of Art Collection.

The exhibition will feature original paintings that have been acquired from previous OUR MOB exhibitions and for the Adelaide Festival Centre Works of Art Collection, showcasing works by renowned artists including Beaver Lennon, Nellie Coulthard, Tony Wilson, Mumu Mike Williams and more.

More information will be released in September.

Since 2006, OUR MOB: Art by South Australian Aboriginal Artists has provided a platform for contemporary First Nations artists to share their stories, ideas and art with audiences.

Presented by Adelaide Festival Centre, the annual exhibition showcases the diversity and depth of works created by First Nations artists across South Australia, from around urban Adelaide to the state’s regional and remote communities, developing the careers of many and generating direct-to-artist sales.

The program comprises three exhibitions: OUR MOB: Art by South Australian Aboriginal Artists; OUR YOUNG MOB for artists under 18 years, and a solo exhibition from the recipient of the previous years’ Emerging Artist Award which is supported by the Don Dunstan Foundation. This and a number of other awards are announced on opening night.

Artists are invited to submit original artworks for consideration in the exhibitions which are then selected by a panel. Entry is always free and artworks are available to purchase. Adelaide Festival Centre often acquires an artwork from OUR MOB for its Works of Art Collection each year.

OUR MOB is celebrated for its inclusiveness, accessibility for artists and its collaborative approach. Adelaide Festival Centre gratefully acknowledges ongoing partnerships with Ku Arts and SICAD; Country Arts SA; The Don Dunstan Foundation; Tarnanthi; and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander arts and culture centre managers and coordinators across South Australia.
