Live performance is in full bloom this Spring at Adelaide Festival Centre!
We are excited to welcome this year’s highly anticipated Oz Asia Festival from 21 October to 7 November under the new Artistic Directorship of Annette Shun Wah. OzAsia Festival is Australia’s leading contemporary arts festival engaging with Asia and it presents a bold and exciting line-up of boundary-pushing contemporary arts and is revered by audiences and critics alike.
Music at the Maj returns in September when the much-loved Paul Kelly and Paul Grabowsky perform a special concert reimagining Kelly’s extraordinary body of work. Additional events presented or co-presented by Adelaide Festival Centre include Truth to Power Café, The World is Looking For You and the rescheduling of OUR MOB, a unique exhibition of art by First Nations artists as well as two new and free in-person events shining a light on the art of storytelling: OUR WORDS and OUR STORIES.
Later in October Jon Stevens pays tribute to the legendary bands that catapulted him into Aussie rock royalty. There are many enjoyable tributes to popular artists such as The Beatles (Let It Be Live), ABBA (Bjorn Again), Patsy Cline & Hank Williams (Together At Last-Celebrating the Music of Patsy Cline and Hank Williams) plus all the great music of Motown and Soul (Songs in the Key of Motown).
Our valued Home Companies are presenting amazing performances in Spring including State Opera South Australia’s return of The Barber of Seville and two special nights of favourite arias and songs performed by Teddy Tahu Rhodes and Guy Noble. State Theatre Company South Australia bring us Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and Eureka Day, Windmill Theatre Company present Amphibian and Australian Dance Theatre present Objekt and “G” by outgoing Artistic Director Garry Stewart.
