
OzAsia Festival’s Weekend of Words returns for another year of thought-provoking panels, discussions and conversations at Australia’s largest gathering of Asian and Asian Australian writers and thinkers.
Hear from award-winning and internationally recognised novelists, journalists, comedians, poets, playwrights, performers, and special guests from South Korea, Singapore Writers Festival, and Ubud Writers and Readers Festival.
Take part in free workshops on memoir writing, manga, zine-making and more including activities and story time for young readers.
With something for all ages and all interests, OzAsia Festival’s Weekend of Words is an inspiring three-day extravaganza of bold voices and big ideas.

Sami Shah is a multi-award-winning comedian, writer, and journalist, and the curator of OzAsia Festival’s Weekend of Words. He brings his sharp wit and storytelling expertise to explore how humour helps us survive and reshape the stories we inherit.
