Getting Here

With redevelopment work around the precinct, access to venues has changed.

Adelaide Festival Centre access and entrances have changed. Festival Theatre's new entrance is on Elder Park and the Walk of Fame connects King William Road and the Riverbank Footbridge, providing easy access to all venues and bars.

The car park is closed. Redevelopment is underway around the precinct and there may be road closures during your visit.

Saturday 15 December 2018

Visits to Adelaide Festival Centre on Saturday 15 December will be impacted by Adelaide Carols by Candlelight road closures and detours. We always recommend leaving lots of extra time for your journey. This time, we really mean it.

King William Rd is closed and crowds are anticipated around the precinct with gated entry to Elder Park and Festival Centre. There is no access to Festival Centre via Elder Park. Theatre patrons may access Festival Centre via two pedestrian entry points: King William Rd and the southern end of the Riverbank Footbridge outside Dunstan Playhouse.

Arrive from the south and leave at least 30 minutes to get from North Terrace to your theatre seat.

The closest vehicle access point is at Dunstan Playhouse on Festival Drive (via Montefiore Road) for drop off only. Patrons with disability concerned about accessing the theatre on Saturday are invited to contact BASS on 131 246 to discuss their visit options.
