No Strings Attached Theatre of Disability

The theatre amplifying disabled voices.

We are an Adelaide-based professional theatre company that provides our artistic community with equal access and opportunities in the performing arts. We proudly work exclusively with performers who identify as living with disability.

Our actors take centre stage, and through collaboration with professional practicing artists, we co-create award-winning productions that deeply move our audiences.

Founded in 1994 by performer, writer and entrepreneur Helen Flinter-Leach, who lived with complex disabilities. Helen understood the immensely transformative power of meaningful paid employment in the Arts, and this has been a driving force for No Strings from the beginning and throughout our first 30 years.

We challenge barriers associated with disability and value the disability lens that our performers bring, regardless of whether or not new works are specifically about disability. By spotlighting (dis)ability, we challenge expectations, celebrate diversity, and educate society towards true inclusion.

Our vision is to amplify the voices of our community through skills development programs and building new pathways to professional performance opportunities.

Our work is only limited by the creativity and imagination of the people with whom we have the privilege to work. We continue to be FEARLESS. LIMITLESS. BOUNDLESS.
