In association with DreamBIG Children’s Festival, take your class to see wild birds up close! Join ornithologist Dr David Paton AM and the Bio·R team for fun, engaging and informative bird banding sessions.
Bird banding involves fitting bands with unique numbers onto the legs of wild birds. Once banded, the lives of individual birds can be tracked through time. We use this technique to determine how birds are using revegetated woodland habitat in South Australia. To learn more about Bird Banding with your class, head to Bird Banding | Bio·R Australia (bior.org.au)
This is a unique opportunity to explore science, wildlife and work in STEM, in a safe environment with professionals in their field.
