Peek behind the curtain and explore how the magic happens. Join us for a behind the scenes tour of our theatres, galleries and corridors at Adelaide Festival Centre or the newly refurbished Her Majesty's Theatre.  

Your school could explore some of our many artistic spaces including the Festival Theatre, Dunstan Playhouse, Space Theatre, as well as our visual art exhibition spaces. 

Dive into the majestically redeveloped Her Majesty’s Theatre where state-of-the-art technology harmoniously fuses with historic excellence.

Tours of Her Majesty’s Theatre – Term 2 2024 

Join the centrED team for a Behind the Scenes tour of Her Majesty’s Theatre. Now 111 years old, The Maj is the only Tivoli theatre façade still standing in Australia. The inside was redeveloped in 2020 and features state of the art facilities and award-winning design.  

These 70-minute tours explore front and back of house areas, giving students a memorable learning experience.

  • Date: Monday July 1 
  • Times: 9:45am, 11.15am & 1pm 
  • Duration: 70 Minutes 
  • Price: $12 Students, $6 Equity Students 
  • Capacity: Up to 30 (a minimum payment of 15 students is required) 
  • SACE: Drama, Creative Arts, Work Studies 
  • Australian Curriculum: The Arts 
  • Year Level: R-12 

Complimentary teacher tickets are issued according to teacher/student ratio: Preschool–Yr2 1:6 Yr3–Yr6 1:10 Yr7–Yr12 1:15. Any additional teachers will be charged at the student price. 

CentrED School Tours 

Schools are welcome to apply for tours at any time, however, please note that venue availability is very limited. Complete an expression of interest and the centrED team will be in touch to confirm availability.

South Aus­tralian region­al and equi­ty schools are invit­ed to con­tact cen­trED to apply for trans­port sub­si­dies should trav­el costs pro­hib­it atten­dance at an Ade­laide Fes­ti­val Cen­tre pre­sent­ed per­for­mance or workshop.
