About our Foundation

Adelaide Festival Centre Foundation is a charitable organisation established to support Adelaide Festival Centre's mission to make the arts accessible to all South Australians.

It’s easier to take than to give. It’s nobler to give than to take. The thrill of taking lasts a day. The thrill of giving lasts a lifetime.

— Joan Marques

Formed in 1999, Adelaide Festival Centre Foundation's board believes passionately that the arts benefits society in infinite ways, bringing joy, and enriching the lives of generations to come. The arts contribute to our creativity, tolerance and resilience, and plays a big role in our health and wellbeing.

The Adelaide Festival Centre Foundation was formed in 1999. Our board believes passionately that the arts benefits society in infinite ways, bringing joy, and enriching the lives of generations to come. The arts contribute to our creativity, tolerance and resilience, and plays a big role in our health and wellbeing.

Approximately a million people a year attend performances, events and festivals at the Adelaide Festival Centre, many with our assistance. The Foundation aims to build a community that has a lifelong love of the arts. Supporting the development of SA’s emerging artists, and actively engaging audiences to open the arts to even more people across our state. The arts give us so much - enjoyment and entertainment, a sense of community, the chance to connect with others. We need these now more than ever. With your help we will ensure the arts remains strong, vibrant and accessible to all, now and in the future.

Every single dollar can have a lasting impact, your generosity will help us achieve our goals. Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible and count towards your lifetime giving level. We proudly recognise all kind donations and those who achieve $2,500 or more will be acknowledged on our lifetime giving honour board in the foyer of the Festival Theatre.
