Adelindo stands for ADELaide INDOnesia, and this OzAsia Festival, Adelindo Angklung will be bringing the music, language, and culture of Indonesia into the schools of Adelaide.
The fun and interactive workshops will give students the opportunity to play the angklung (bamboo instrument) and immerse themselves in spoken Bahasa Indonesia delivered by Yenny & Ferry Chandra, from Adelindo Angklung.
Adelindo Angklung will run up to 3 x 40-minute workshops in each school for 30-50 students per workshop.
Successful schools will need to provide:
- A large space to host the workshop (i.e: performing arts room or a gymnasium)
- Seating for participating students
- Screen projector (not a TV) if possible (if not, the artist can provide)
Please use the “Apply Now” button to complete an expression of interest form for your school group. This is an application – schools will be informed whether they have been selected by the end of Week 9 (T3).
This program is FREE for schools in the Adelaide metropolitan region. Schools that would like to have greater engagement with cultural programs, but have budget limitations that prevent this, are encouraged to apply, including Department for Education IoED Category 1-4 schools and schools who teach Indonesian.
This workshop:
- Features a music soundtrack.
- Requires participants to follow facilitators' instructions.
- May involve participants being singled out or separated.
